Two Belgian accordion virtuosos whose paths have crossed for years: Cresens and Thuriot produced each other's solo records, worked together on the dance theatre piece Amours Aveugles (with music by Monteverdi, choreography by Koen Augustijnen and Rosalba Torres), and in summer 2025 presented the weekly Klara programme Weg van Accordeon. What few people know is that both learned the instrument from the same first teacher, accordion pioneer Jules Willems — now 96 and still very much alive in their memories. So this concert is not just a duo performance, but the meeting of two musical lives that have been intertwined for decades.
"The most beautiful music arises where boundaries blur." — Gwen Cresens
