Our region holds an exceptionally rich treasury of medieval Christmas songs, but many have been forgotten because their Old Dutch lyrics are hard to follow today. O Kerstnacht unearths these hidden gems, mainly from the Low Countries, with lyrics rewritten in contemporary Dutch.
And so centuries-old words feel close once more. Musically, the programme sits at the crossroads of early music, jazz and folk, with refined arrangements that respect the old while giving it new life.
