Méabh Ní Bheaglaoich, Owen Spafford and Cáit Ní Riain met in the West Kerry Gaeltacht — an Irish-speaking area where tradition is still part of daily life. Méabh is the daughter of the legendary Séamus Begley; Owen grew up in Leeds, where he learned the Sligo style of the late fiddler Des Hurley; Cáit comes from Upperchurch, Tipperary, where she grew up in the music pub Jim of the Mills.
Their second album, Dlúth agus Inneach / Warp & Weft (released February 2026), takes its title from the weaving process itself: warp and weft threads that together form a fabric. In just the same way, they weave three traditions — Kerry, Tipperary, Yorkshire — into one whole.
